Costa Adeje is one of the sunniest corners of Tenerife — the south of the island is shielded from clouds by Mount Teide, so expect sunshine and 20–29 °C most of the year. Evenings can occasionally be breezy; a light layer is handy.

🌫️ What is calima?

A few times a year, warm winds carry fine Sahara dust over the Canary Islands. The sky turns hazy, temperatures often rise, and air quality drops for a day or three. It's harmless for most people, but if you have asthma or a heart condition, take it easy, keep windows closed and limit outdoor exercise on strong calima days. The haze usually clears within a couple of days.
